IMMIGRATION EVALUATIONS

For Partners

Organizations

Immigration courts typically regard comprehensive psychological evaluations as compelling evidence of a person’s need to remain in the United States. When submitted as part of their legal case, immigrants win their cases twice as often as those without. While many immigrants need and deserve this evaluation very few have access to them because of the great cost. On average, evaluations cost $2,500 out-of-pocket.

I function as an independent contractor with organizations that have funding available for psychological evaluations. These partnerships enable refugees and immigrants to receive low-cost or no-cost evaluations, and ensure they have access to due process and justice in immigration proceedings.

With an effective partnership, an immigrant or refugee should receive the following:

  • A quality psychological evaluation at a reduced rate
  • A positive, trauma-informed, culturally-considered space to tell their story with a mental health provider
  • An opportunity for a referral to additional mental health support

Please contact Kyri if you are an organization interested in partnership for psychological evaluations.

Clinicians

I often provide referrals to mental health providers when the evaluation is complete as my objectivity in court would be compromised if I were in a dual role as evaluator and therapist.

Please contact Kyri if you are a mental health provider interested in offering your services. Specialized training in the any of the following is highly beneficial: Trauma (i.e., combat/war, torture, FGM-C, trafficking), Culturally-considered treatment, Narrative Exposure Therapy, EMDR).
